Her Circle Feature #4: Sy Aaron-" The Serial Entrepreneur"

        "Dare to be different. It's okay to be country with a Hollywood mind." These are the words of Sy Aaron. Down to earth, with a true entrepreneurial spirit, she is a true example of what it means to put your dreams to the test, and get  dynamic results.    Taking on her father's business of ice sculpting, she developed her own company, Creative Image Ice. However, she does more than beautifully sculpt ice. Currently with more than a few business projects in the works, she presses on to develop even more positive ventures.  Ms. Aaron oversees Creative Image Ice, White Now Express, Say Yaluvme Lingerie, and The Ladies Room. Sy is the epitome of the serial entrepreneur, and one could learn a lesson or two from her drive and success.


                                                                                                               Personal Bio
 
       Raised in Little Rock, Sy started her first business in 2005, selling lingerie in the strip clubs, as what they call a "house mom".  Sy got her spirit of entrepreneurship honest, with great influence from a line of entrepreneurs in her family. With a father who managed to remain the only one in the state of Arkansas to carve ice sculptures, therefore remaining in a lane of his very own. As Sy watched this greatness growing up, she decided to keep the family business going when her father retired.




       In talking about her calling as a serial entrepreneur, Aaron comments as following. "Now, the "serial entrepreneur" part of me came from my grandfather on my mother's side, whom built his business by hand, brick by brick.  In that building, he opened a records store, liquor store, a juke joint that brought many famous blues singers here, such as Marvin Sease, and he also had a clothing store called Baggy Britches, and ran them all!" It is evident that Ms. Aaron was born into greatness, and as she says, got those genes honestly from both sides of the family.

 A Mother's Motivation
 
       Sy Aaron has proven that she is definitely a "BOSS", literally, as she as quoted before. She works hard and plans hard, always on top of what's next. When asked, Aaron says that this inspiration was stimulated by her being a single mother of 2 boys.  She quotes, " I just never wanted to get comfortable with the idea of struggling, so I was  determined to do two things and that was not to depend on the welfare system all my life, and I also wanted to lead by example and show my sons 101 ways to get money without being in the streets to get it." Sy prides herself in setting the bar high for herself early on and sticking to it.  It is this innate drive and the inspiration of her boys that keep her wheels of ingenuity constantly spinning. Don't let her fool you, Ms. Aaron is a true hustler, in that she has a business savvy that surpasses many others.

Q: What is your favorite scripture or quote that you live by?
 
A:  I wholeheartedly believe God with this scripture...Ephesians 3:20: Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us."
 

Q: What are your goals for your current projects?
A:  I'm working towards building a brand.  I'm going to continue to explore new ideas because I want REAL money, multiple streams of income, flippn' it, flippn' it, flippn' it, bankn it!

 
Q:What advice could you give to young women interested in business?
A:  "The best advice I learned was dare to be different. My advice is to be careful who you share your ideas with because not all people are supporters and the moment you recognize the “hate” (usually by their response) don’t say another word, hold your tongue and transition on to another topic. Also, don't be afraid to invest in what you think will work for YOU. If you've done ALL your research and it's a gut feeling and you have nothing to lose, then just do it. Do what you want to do with confidence! Be bold! Whoever don't like it, they'll get use to it! And in business, you have to put yourself out there and stop hiding behind emails, fb, twitter and all these social sites...which are extremely great avenues to promote, but you have to get out and shake hands with other business owners. Have more of those friends than kicking friends. Make yourself go to business functions/ workshops/ seminars or whatever, because there is ALWAYS something you can learn. And while your working on one project, get started with brainstorming for the next big thing, keep yourself in the loop and your name out there! And last but not least....you're in business to make money! Share hustles before you steal hustles! Stealing another persons idea says nothing but one thing about you....bad business! So hustle hard and  put that hat on that says....Go-Getter"

Q: What can we expect in the future from you and your projects?
A: "Well, I'm working on a huge hush, hush project right now with The Ladies Room, and I hope to collaborate with all businesses from here and the outskirts of the city. I'm over excited about it and all the ladies are going to really enjoy this one. A portion will be donated to one of the battered women shelters here. I want to also put together a program called Homeless2Home and assist the homeless step by step to regaining their own independence instead of handicapping them with handouts. I'm also working on a system to propose to the school district, action that has never been taking before, that should help minimize bullying in schools by pointing out the bullies as a group."

        With her newest project,  The Ladies Room Events. Sy anticipates developing this more over the upcoming months. She currently showcases the latest beauty tips, hottest fashion trends, and glam news on the Ladies Room, Facebook page alone.    
        In addition to her page, Sy has recently organized a spectacular Girl's Day Out event that promises a whole day of endless pampering and primping!        Matchameryll believes in the power of product research and ultimately creating a product that consumers can not only purchase at an affordable price, but also absolutely fall in love with each time they use it. Personal Bio  
       
       Matcha was born in Suriname, South America but was raised from a baby in The European Netherlands. There she completed all her schooling through college , where she completed 1.5 years at the University of Amsterdam. As a result, Matcha had several jobs in the Human Resources field.

       However at the age of 21, she developed a true love for fashion, nails and make- up. It was this love that led her to complete various courses in make up, nail care and esthetics , not knowing yet what her purpose would be with these courses.

       At the age of 33, Matcha followed her heart, and was inspired to move back to Suriname, to pursue her love and passion for beauty.  It was here, after finding that many women shared similar skin issues, she decided to start to her own cosmetic company, with the goal of developing a full line of products that would be suitable for Ethnic skin.  Through research, Matcha determined the distinct differences between Caucasian skin and Ethnic skin.  She contacted several cosmetic laboratories, did more pertinent research, and engaged in testing on various Ethnic skin types, thus evolving her own unique product line.

                                                                                    
       At the age of 35, Matcha  opened a Beauty Academy in Suriname, teaching practical courses with her own products: make-up, facial treatments and manicure/pedicure.  The Academy and the products turned out to be a huge success in Suriname.

The New & Improved Product Launch

       By 2011, Matcha decided to move to the United States, where her products were manufactured.  Due to the success of the product in Suriname, she made a plan to expand sales in the United States and other Caribbean countries, to be exported from the U.S. It was this move that made her realize her focus needed to be right here in the U.S, where she heard familiar complaints of skin problems, inaccessible products, and  expensive prices for quality products. It was this dialogue that led Matcha to improve her product line even more, by coming up with a unique mix of all natural and organic products within her skin care line. She launched the renewed skin care line for all Ethnic skin types in May 7,  2015 in  the U.S.

Q:  What is your constant inspiration or favorite quote, scripture, or saying?
A:

-       Put your money where your mouth is!

-       Treat people like you want to be treated!

-        Honesty is the best policy!

Q:  Do you have any advice or a message for young ladies and women out there?
A:  "Work hard and you will receive. Also never give up.  Follow your heart and your dreams, don’t follow anyone else's dream. Work towards what makes you happy and it won’t be easy...but than again nothing is easy, but if you put your heart into it and always get up when you fall…believe me you will be Succesful!"

Q: In your opinion, what sets your business apart from others?
A: Until now I didn't know any other product that offers  A natural and organic , 3 step skin care line, developed for the ethnic skin that is as affordable as mine. This is what sets it apart.

Q: Where do you see yourself and your business in 5 years?
A:" In 5 years I see my business growing nationally and in the Caribbean with an extended line of facial, skin and hair products."

        Kanisha Hatton has a deep, brewing love for people, and it spills over into all the things she does as an artist, and in her endless work in the community. Every one she touches is left touched by her dynamic energy and positive inspiration. She is undeniably passionate about everything that she gets her hands into. In her own words, she states "I have a strong passion for people, there is no better way to prove that, until you get your hands dirty in the community."

                                       Personal Bio

       Kanisha Hatton is an aspiring actress, poet, advocate, humanitarian, dancer, and personal development coach.  She attended Excel Models and Talent Management, John Casablanca's in Memphis, Tennessee, where she developed the skills in runway, makeup artistry, acting for T.V. and Commercial Training.  Following numerous opportunities to play roles in film, stage plays, and dance videos locally, was truly her inspiration to continue training in the areas of arts.

          She most recently attended UALR Performance Arts Department and Music Department where she took coursework in Intro to Theater and Dance, Costume Design, Ballet, Modern Dance, Music, and Voice in 2007-2010. Following a B.S in Health Sciences with Emphasis on Community Health Promotions, she developed a passion to use arts as a way to get individuals interested in health and wellness, build the health of youth and adults in her community as she strongly volunteers with many health and community oriented organizations who focus strongly on developing the mind, body, and spirit of the citizens in the state.

Q: What is your constant inspiration?

Q: What do you hope to accomplish with your art and work in the community?
A: I hope to accomplish getting certified as a Personal Fitness Trainer on a National Level/Personal Development Coach and look forward to using dance as a way to encourage health and wellness to the community.
 
 Q: Do you have a message for young ladies and women out there?
A: My advice to young ladies and women is to learn "self", once you've mastered learning yourself, you can't fail at anything.  There is many ways to learn about yourself.  For the last 7 years, I have meditated each morning and most nights on scripture, self-help material, doctor written material on growth and development...It helps you to rise to WOMANHOOD. It helped me learn more about who I needed to be, so it's surely a way to RISE. 
 
 Q: What is next for you, and what projects do you hope to initiate in the near future?
 A: I hope to submit my poetry to top publishing companies.
 
Q: Where do you see yourself and your projects in 5 years?
A: In 5 years, I see myself becoming Unstoppable if it is Gods Will for me to become UNSTOPPABLE!!!

Kanisha currently heads  the youth dance and theater portion of the summer program at Our House, Homeless Shelter, in Little Rock, Arkansas.  She looks to continue working with and inspiring youth in the community to live out their dreams through the arts. Her Circle Feature # 1-Tasha Lynette Shumate (My Personal Feature)

 Background

       I was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. Youngest of three girls, and motivated first by the hard work and perserverance of my loving parents.  Despite their many obstacles, they pressed on and loved on. That natural tenacity for life stirred up a drive in me that still boils and bubbles over today.

Education Flow 

      I attended and graduated from University of Arkansas at Little Rock, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Graduate Certificate in Conflict Mediation, and a Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education. My deepest desire has always been to help others in whatever I do. I am currently an Educator, but seeking God for the next step on my journey of life.

The Love of My Life

       I am the proud mother of a beautiful 8 yr. old daughter, the love of my life, Taniah La'Cole,  who is my constant motivation to never give up, and to constantly pursue my goals. I'm in love with the possibility, so I strive to grasp those things unseen. It is my hope that my life's path will illuminate a path for my     daughter. A path that sees no boundaries or dead ends. 

 The Passions

      Passion is what propels us forward. It is the drive to work toward stimulating what you love. I have been writing for years and have a deep passion for writing and sharing my words.  I have been personally inspired by poets and writers such as Maya Angelou, Nikki Giovanni, Langston Hughes, Zane, and Hill Harper just to name a few. I write poetry that seeks to speak to the soul of every man, and especially woman. Again, I am inspired by the possibility of what could be, so therefore I continually strive for the best that I can be. I am currently working on a poetry book project, W.O.W. Woman of Waiting. It is comprised of all the emotions and stages of the woman's plight in life, through love and relationships in an echo of words. It is my personal experience shared.  Sassy Series Events

        In April of this year, I created a series of events, partnering with owner, Alisha Aubrey along with her amazing team at Body By Resilience and her studio services. I was blessed to be referred to her and her wonderful studio.  She specializes in pole fitness, and that's all I needed to hear.  My search for this type of workout was over, and I knew many women would be looking for an opportunity to kick up their sexy a notch. Thus, I initiated hosting the chair and pole  dance parties and that was the birth of Sassy Series Events.
 
However, I felt it should be more than just chair and pole dancing. I wanted to expand the brand. Sassy Series Events are a line-up of events that focus on fitness, health, self-esteem, assertiveness, sexiness, and the well being of the Whole Woman. It's not just a FITNESS EVENT, it's a MOVEMENT!!! The Sassy goes way beyond the surface.  It is about getting women together in a positive way, to make a dynamic change in each of their lives in a personal way. This is only the beginning.                       Her Circle Network 

Her Circle Network is my latest baby. :-) It was birthed as a blog to showcase the works and worth of women of all colors. It is a networking community, where women of all kind can share their passions and learn and connect with others of like and differing talents. I have plans for this to reach millions and showcase hundreds of thousands of fierce Her Circle Profiles. If nothing else, I want to put forth a dynamic circle of ladies , and give them the ability to strut their stuff, in a very personal way. The Projection

In five years, I see myself reaching more personal goals in my career, in my writing, and  in my many projects and just life in general. The recipe to making a dream a reality, is to start living it.

A New Beginning
