At the age of 33, Matcha followed her heart, and was inspired to move back to Suriname, to pursue her love and passion for beauty. It was here, after finding that many women shared similar skin issues, she decided to start to her own cosmetic company, with the goal of developing a full line of products that would be suitable for Ethnic skin. Through research, Matcha determined the distinct differences between Caucasian skin and Ethnic skin. She contacted several cosmetic laboratories, did more pertinent research, and engaged in testing on various Ethnic skin types, thus evolving her own unique product line.At the age of 35, Matcha opened a Beauty Academy in Suriname, teaching practical courses with her own products: make-up, facial treatments and manicure/pedicure. The New & Improved Product Launch
By 2011, Matcha decided to move to the United States, where her products were manufactured. Due to the success of the product in Suriname, she made a plan to expand sales in the United States and other Caribbean countries, to be exported from the U.S. It was this move that made her realize her focus needed to be right here in the U.S, where she heard familiar complaints of skin problems, inaccessible products, and expensive prices for quality products. It was this dialogue that led Matcha to improve her product line even more, by coming up with a unique mix of all natural and organic products within her skin care line. She launched the renewed skin care line for all Ethnic skin types in May 7, 2015 in the U.S.
