Her Circle Feature # 1-Tasha Lynette Shumate (My Personal Feature)

Tasha Lynette Shumate

"I'm in love with the possibility, so
I strive to grasp those things unseen"

 Background

I was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. Youngest of three girls, and motivated first by the hard work and perserverance of my loving parents.  Despite their many obstacles, they pressed on and loved on. That natural tenacity for life stirred up a drive in me that still boils and bubbles over today.

Education Flow

I attended and graduated from University of Arkansas at Little Rock, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Graduate Certificate in Conflict Mediation, and a Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education. My deepest desire has always been to help others in whatever I do. I am currently an Educator, but seeking God for the next step on my journey of life.

The Love of My Life

I am the proud mother of a beautiful 8 yr. old daughter, the love of my life, Taniah La'Cole,  who is my constant motivation to never give up, and to constantly pursue my goals. I'm in love with the possibility, so I strive to grasp those things unseen. It is my hope that my life's path will illuminate a path for my     daughter. A path that sees no boundaries or dead ends.

 The Passions

Passion is what propels us forward. It is the drive to work toward stimulating what you love. I have been writing for years and have a deep passion for writing and sharing my words.  I have been personally inspired by poets and writers such as Maya Angelou, Nikki Giovanni, Langston Hughes, Zane, and Hill Harper just to name a few. I write poetry that seeks to speak to the soul of every man, and especially woman. Again, I am inspired by the possibility of what could be, so therefore I continually strive for the best that I can be. I am currently working on a poetry book project, W.O.W. Woman of Waiting. It is comprised of all the emotions and stages of the woman's plight in life, through love and relationships in an echo of words. It is my personal experience shared. I hope to publish it upon its completion in the next year or so.  You can find my work on my new poetry blog, www.tanettepoetry.blogspot.com. This was a new project started January of 2013, and it was a great decision. Also stay tuned for my collection of soft-core erotica shorts for your reading pleasure :-)

 Sassy Series Events

In April of this year, I created a series of events, partnering with owner, Alisha Aubrey along with her amazing team at Body By Resilience and her studio services. I was blessed to be referred to her and her wonderful studio.  She specializes in pole fitness, and that's all I needed to hear.  My search for this type of workout was over, and I knew many women would be looking for an opportunity to kick up their sexy a notch. Thus, I initiated hosting the chair and pole  dance parties and that was the birth of Sassy Series Events.

However, I felt it should be more than just chair and pole dancing. I wanted to expand the brand. Sassy Series Events are a line-up of events that focus on fitness, health, self-esteem, assertiveness, sexiness, and the well being of the Whole Woman. It's not just a FITNESS EVENT, it's a MOVEMENT!!! The Sassy goes way beyond the surface.  It is about getting women together in a positive way, to make a dynamic change in each of their lives in a personal way. This is only the beginning. Stay up to date with what is coming next on the facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/SassySeriesEvents

                      Her Circle Network

Her Circle Network is my latest baby. :-) It was birthed as a blog to showcase the works and worth of women of all colors. It is a networking community, where women of all kind can share their passions and learn and connect with others of like and differing talents. I have plans for this to reach millions and showcase hundreds of thousands of fierce Her Circle Profiles. If nothing else, I want to put forth a dynamic circle of ladies , and give them the ability to strut their stuff, in a very personal way. Check the  facebook page for continuous updates as well. https://www.facebook.com/HerCircleNetwork

The Projection

In five years, I see myself reaching more personal goals in my career, in my writing, and  in my many projects and just life in general. The recipe to making a dream a reality, is to start living it.

I'm learning you have to start somewhere to end up anywhere. Ultimately, my destiny is in God’s hands, I am just learning to humbly seek of him the right path to follow on that journey. You can connect with me personally on my Facebook page, www.facebook.com/tasha.lynette.
